On Friday, September 13, 2024, Poland Local School District was made aware of a gas leak near the Poland McKinley Elementary (K-3) & Poland Middle School (4-6) facility. Local authorities were on the scene and notified the district that the facility should be evacuated. A Bulldog Alert was then issued.

THIS BULLDOG ALERT HAS EXPIRED.

At 1:32 p.m., local officials have given Poland Local School District the ALL-CLEAR status for our K-6 Facility.

Poland Local Schools to normal operations. Students are returning back to the facility to operate under normal protocol. There are no alternative dismissal procedures.

BULLDOG UPDATE: 

The Poland Local School District is aware of the recent increase in cyber threats targeting school districts. We are actively monitoring our systems to ensure the safety of our students and staff, as any threat to our district is a serious concern.

As of Friday, September 13, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., the Poland Local School District has not been directly targeted by any threats.

Poland Township Police and Poland Village Police are present in our school districts, supporting our daily operations with School Resource Officers. We are thankful for our local police department for providing additional resources at our school buildings today.

Poland McKinley PTO is hosting a Spirit Day at Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream. This flyer is good for Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. only. Every flyer that is returned to the Poland Handel’s on that one special day will be totaled and the organization will receive 20% of the total sales.

Poland Local School District will be conducting bus evacuation drills on September 18 & 20. Please note that these are drills and that our transportation staff will be instructing students throughout the process. McKinley & Poland Middle Students will perform the drill Friday, September 20 upon morning arrival to school. PSHS Students will perform the drill Wednesday, September 18 before afternoon departure from school.

PATRIOT DAY - Poland's First Responders Walk | Poland Local Schools would like to thank our local first responders for all that they do to keep Poland great! They are heroes to so many Bulldogs, and we honored them in the Bulldog Way today with a special walk full of flags, posters, and thank you cards decorating the halls. Thank you!

WOW! The fifth grade choir put on a special spring concert, leading off with a hilarious 'Ode to Chocolate' and continuing with Abby, Milena, and Irelynn's sweet solos on 'Mary Ann'. The sixth graders mastered their solfege (do re mi fa soooo good...) and showed us how fun it is to sing at Poland Middle!
