It was a grand idea by 5th Grade Math 24 Wizard Colton to challenge former Math 24 competitor Mr. Nico (the video editor) to a little showdown... Bulldogs know better than being all bark, no bite, so they were certain they would win.

Bots that Bark shows how Bulldogs in grades 4 through 6 level up in robotics—coding smarter, building bigger, and thinking bolder each year. Along the way, they bring Evos, Spheros, and EV3s to life. And it all starts… with paper, markers, and a simple line of code.

The ESC of Eastern Ohio Career Counseling Dept. brought the future into the 6th grade classrooms with an exciting new way to explore careers... through the Oculus virtual reality headsets. Students recently had the opportunity to step into the shoes of professionals from a wide variety of fields—all without ever leaving their classroom.

Poland's 6th Annual Exceptional Art Show: Let's hear from the artists on how they made their masterpieces! This is Creativity // Unleashed!!

Our friend Mrs. Ayers from the ESC brought VR headsets to Mrs. DiMuzio's fifth grade art class for a virtual field trip! Students were tasked with exploring the natural scenes of Colombia, developing a sense of implied textures. They saw waterfalls, architecture, and the culture of various cities, all from the seats of their classroom.

PANDA Club sixth graders visited their friends at McKinley to catch up and share some stories! Throughout the school year, club members have been meeting with their Kindergarten friends to hear about what they've been learning and fun things about them. These are friendships that last forever!

March 16-22, 2025 is Severe Weather Awareness Week in Ohio. Poland Local Schools will be participating in the Statewide Tornado Drill on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at 9:50 a.m.

Congratulations to fifth grade student Kathryn N. on memorizing 250 digits of PI in the annual Poland Middle School Pi Day Competition! WOW!! Kathryn secured the new school record with this amazing performance. Mrs. Martin's students opened up the competition with a little song, and then the digits were rattled off from memory. An all-around great day for our fifth-grade class.

The Poland Schools Foundation is excited to announce the Inaugural “Walk for Our Future”! Students in grades 2-6 will embark on a walk through our village to raise money for scholarships, teacher mini-grants and the Poland Seminary Auditorium Joint Project. The auditorium is used by every single student in the district and we are dedicated to improving that space! The Math 24 team from Poland Middle School represented Poland Local Schools in two Math 24 competitions this year. At the Canfield matchups on March 6, fifth grade student Katarina Falasca placed in the Top 16! Congratulations to our Bulldogs on their successful performances, speedy calculations, and teamwork.

Congratulations to McKinley Elementary's Everly Raimondo on winning 1st place in Grade 1 for her artwork at the Butler Institute of American Art Celebrates Young Artists Exhibition! Other students earning awards include: Alexander Thomas - 3rd Place, Charlotte Gentile - 3rd Place, Briella Hawthorne - 2nd Place, Evan McCrea, Grade 5 - 3rd Place. Congratulations to our young artists and their teacher, Mrs. DiMuzio!

Sparky from the Youngstown Phantoms invited fourth grade students to the School Day Game! For their PBIS reward, the Bulldogs enjoyed a morning cheering on the home team. Even better, the PSHS Marching Band was the house band for the day, playing on timeouts and at intermission. Our eighth grade students sat in right along with our high school musicians. Our PSHS Cheerleaders invited the K-6 Bulldogs to take the court for halftime! In just two hours this week, the girls prepared a cheer and dance routine that was OUTSTANDING! Way to go, Bulldogs!

In 2022, a group of third grade students courageously started a petition to the school district for more snow days. The whole third grade class signed the petition. Today, they are holding a press conference...

The Bulldogs creatively present the many accomplishments and stories of very important people with visual aids to help! This time, we’ll be checking off the people we learn about in Bulldog Biographies!

The gift of warmth... 4th Grade Kindness Club teamed up in groups this week to create tie knot blankets for friends in our community that need some warmth! Way to go, Bulldogs!
